The Royal Palace - built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town. It is a complex of buildings which serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia. The complex is divided by walls into four main compounds. On the south side is the Silver Pagoda, to the north side is the Khemarin Palace and the central compound contains the Throne Hall and to the west is the private sector or the Inner Court.
The Silver Pagoda - proper name is Wat Preah Keo Morokat, which means 'The Temple of the Emerald Buddha,' but has received the common moniker 'Silver Pagoda' after the 5329 solid silver floor tiles that adorn the temple building. Each tile was handcrafted and weighs 1.125kg. The pagoda compound as a whole contains several structures and gardens, the primary building being the temple Wat Preah Keo Morokat and other structures including a library, various stupas, shrines, monuments, minor buildings and the galleries of the Reamker located within the grounds of the Royal Palace.
Wat Phnom Temple - is a Buddhist temple built in 1372 and stands 27 metres (88.5 ft) above the ground. It is the tallest religious structure in the city. The interior has a central altar complex with a large bronze seated Buddha surrounded by other statues, flowers, candles and items of devotion and worship. The walls are covered with murals, especially of Jataka stories of the Buddha's earlier reincarnations before his enlightenment. It is a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh. As the tour comes to a day's end return back to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02 Phnom Penh - Siem Reap – Angkor Tour
After breakfast, avail the transfer (sic) to airport for an hour's flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Travel Expert. Board transfer (sic) for your visit to marvel at what remains of the famed Khmer Empire and bear witness to the stunning ruins of Angkor Wat on this private full-day tour from Siem Reap. Kick things off at the south gate of Angkor Thom City. Follow your guide through Bayon temple before venturing into the Phimeanakas and Royal Enclosure. Take in the beauty of the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrance of Leper Kings with an over view of Angkor Wat under sun setting from Bakheng Hills.
Savour a relishig dinner at a local restaurant with traditional dance and return back to the hotel in Siem Reap for overnight stay.
Day 03 Angkor Wat & Ta Prohm Temples
Post breakfast, we will visit the largest complex and the most impressive sand stone art of Cambodia "Angkor Wat". The temple was constructed in the 12th century which covers an area of about 210 hectares. Stroll around this massive structure, seeing outstanding galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple. Afterwards the tour shall continue for a visit to the incredible Ta Prohm temple in Siem Reap. Settle among of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man's creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature. After a rememberable day return back to your hotel for a good night nap in Siem Reap.
Day 04 Les Artisans D' Angkor - Phsa chas - Departure
Enjoy a mouth licking morning meal. You will have some time to visit a final site - Les Artisans D' Angkor - a home of handicraft center creating job opportunities for young people in rural areas while reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship. Also visit the Old Market" Phsa Chas" for buying gifts for your family back home before transfer to Siem Reap airport for journey back home.
